There are 5 pencil-cases on the desk. Each pencil-case contains at least 10 pencils, but not more than 14 pencils. Which of the following could be the total number of pencils in all 5 cases?

A) 35
B) 45
C) 65
D) 75

Determine the minimum amount of pencils (At least means greater than or equal to):
Minimum Amount of pencils = Cases * Min Quantity
Minimum Amount of pencils = 5 * 10
Minimum Amount of pencils = 50

Determine the maximum amount of pencils (Not more than means less than or equal to):
Maximum Amount of pencils = Cases * Min Quantity
Maximum Amount of pencils = 5 * 14
Maximum Amount of pencils = 70

So our range of pencils (p) is:
50 <= p <= 70

Now take a look at our answer choices. The only answer which fits in this inequality range is C, 65.
