First, determine what fraction of pants are black and tan:
1/2 + 1/5

Using our fraction addition calculator, we get 7/10.

So the rest of the pants are 1 - 7/10.

1 can be written as 10/10.

So we have 10/10 - 7/10 = 3/10

3/10 * 50 = 150/10 = 15
